1. Introduction
These Terms of Service govern your use of Tether. By using Tether, you agree to these terms.
2. Using Tether
Tether is a personal relationship reminder tool intended for keeping in touch with real people you know.
You must be at least 13 years old to use Tether.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you add about your contacts.
Do not use Tether for spam, harassment, or any activity that would harm others.
Do not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise misuse the platform.
You own your data.
Tether does not claim any rights to your contact information, relationship notes, or interaction logs.
We will never sell your data or use it to serve you advertisements.
3. Information About Other People
Tether lets you store notes, dates, and other information about people in your life who are not Tether users. You are responsible for the accuracy of this information and for having a reasonable basis to store it. Do not use Tether to store information about someone in a way that would violate their privacy or any law that applies to you or to them.
4. Pricing
Tether may offer both free and paid tiers. Your current tier and its features are shown in your account settings. We will notify you before any change to your existing plan's pricing.
If you have a paid subscription, billing is handled by Stripe. You can manage or cancel through the subscription portal in settings when available. We do not offer refunds for partial billing periods unless required by law.
5. Your Data
You may sign out of your account at any time. To request permanent deletion of your account and all associated data, contact us at hello@staytether.app with the subject “Delete My Account.” We will complete deletion within 30 days, consistent with our Privacy Policy.

6. Service Availability
Tether is provided as-is. We will do our best to keep the service running reliably, but we cannot guarantee 100% uptime. We are not liable for any loss of data, missed reminders, AI suggestion outcomes, or damages arising from use of the service.
6a. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall Tether's total liability to you for any claims arising from or relating to these Terms or your use of Tether exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid Tether in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) fifty US dollars ($50). This limitation applies to all claims, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, or any other legal theory. In no event shall we be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses.
6b. Circumstances Beyond Our Control
We are not liable for delays or failures in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to internet or telecommunications outages, failures of third-party service providers (including but not limited to Supabase, Vercel, Brevo, Stripe, Upstash, and Anthropic), acts of government, natural disasters, or other force majeure events.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, and code within Tether is owned by Tether and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the product without written permission.
8. Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
9. Changes to These Terms
If we make significant changes to these terms, we will notify you by email before they take effect. Continued use of Tether after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
10. Your Responsibility for Claims
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Tether, its founders, employees, and affiliates from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or attorneys' fees arising from: (a) your violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any third-party right, including the privacy rights of people whose information you store in Tether; (c) any content or information you submit to Tether; or (d) your use of Tether in any manner that violates applicable law.
11. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
